Documents Required for PAN Card Categories

Since PAN Card has different categories, therefore, the documents that are required for applying for the PAN Card is also slightly different for the different categories-

Trust

A Trust is an organization consist of the trustees, usually, there are three parties involved in this organization. The trustee, trustor, and the beneficiary are the three parties involved in the process of creating trust. The document required for applying for PAN Card as a Trust is as follows-

  • Copy of a trust deed
  • Certificate of registration issued by Charity Commissioner

Individual

An individual is a person who is applying for the PAN Card. This option can be selected by any Indian citizen. The document required for applying for this type of Pan Card is as follows

 Proof of Identity

  • Copy of voter’s identity card
  • Ration card with the applicant’s photograph
  • Copy of passport
  • Copy of driving license
  • Arm’s license
  • Copy of Aahdaar card issued by Unique Identification Authority of India
  • Photo identity card issued by the central government or state government or any other public sector undertaking
  • Central government health scheme card
  • Bank certificate containing an attested photograph of the applicant along with bank account number of the applicant
  • Copy of pensioner card having a photograph of the applicant
  • Certificate of identity in original signed by a Member of Parliament or Member of Legislative Assembly or Municipal Councilor

Address Proof

  • Copy of electricity bills
  • Copy of landline bills
  • Copy of broadband connection bill
  • Bank account statements
  • Credit card statement
  • Post office passbook featuring address of the applicant
  • Passport
  • Passport of spouse
  • Voter identity card with photograph
  • Latest order for property tax assessment
  • Driving license
  • Domicile certificate issued by government
  • Aadhar card issued by Unique Identification Authority of India
  • Allotment letter
  • If submitting a copy of one of the first five documents, the documents should not be more than three months old

Association of a Person & Body of Individuals

Association of a Person (AOP) is an integration of two or more persons for the purpose of generating income. It can also be called a body of an individual that are integrated for the similar purpose of generating income. The following are the document required for applying for the PAN Card as an AOP-

  • Copy of Agreement.
  • Copy of Certificate of Registration Number issued by Charity Commissioner or body of Registrar of Co-operative individuals Society or any other Competent or local Authority
  • Any other document originating from any Central Government or State Government establishing Identity and, address registered of such persons

Company &  Firm or Limited Liability Partnership

Limited Liability Partnership is a partnership in which all the members of the partnership has some liabilities in the business. In an LLP, each partner is not responsible or liable for another partner’s misconduct or negligence. The following are the list of documents that are required for a Limited Liability Partnership-

  • Copy of Partnership Deed (in Case of LLP)
  • Certificate of Registration issued by the Registrar of Firms or ROC in case of Limited Liability Partnerships

Hindu Undivided Family

Hindu Undivided Family or HUF is a joint family PAN Card that can avail for getting tax exemption. The following are the document required for applying for the PAN Card as a HUF-

  • Affidavit by the karta of the Hindu Undivided Family stating the family name, father’s name and (HUF) address of all the coparceners on the date of application
  • Copy of any document as proof of identity and address of the Karta of the family

Artificial Juridical Person

Artificial Juridical Person is a non-human legal entity that is authorized by law with duties and rights and is recognized as a legal person and as having a distinct identity. The following are the list of documents required for applying for PAN Card as an Artificial Juridical Person-

  • Copy of Agreement
  • Copy of Certificate of Registration Number issued by Charity Commissioner or body of Registrar of Co-operative individuals Society or any other Competent or local Authority
  • Any other document of Identity and, the address registered of such person
