What is Aadhaar PVC?

Aadhaar PVC is the latest addition to the Aadhaar card introduced by the UIDAI. It is a better version of paper-based Aadhaar only with additional security features. It has become more durable and easy to carry than before. There are a lot of other features as well which are unique to only Aadhaar PVC, you will not find those features on the old Aadhaar card (paper-based).

How to apply for Aadhaar PVC?

You can apply for an Aadhaar card PCV by following these steps-

Visit the official website of UIDAI and navigate to Aadhaar PVC or you can follow this link to apply for Aadhaar PVC-Aadhaar PVC Card Order.

  • Now, enter your ‘Aadhaar number’ or ‘Virtual ID’ number or ‘EID’ number and enter the security code as displayed above.
  • Click on the Send OTP or TOTP. If your Aadhaar card does not have your mobile number registered then you can click on the check box saying “Mobile number not registered”
  • After that, you can enter your mobile number and click on send OTP or TOTP.
  • Now, you will be redirected to a new page with your Aadhaar PVC card preview. Check your details to verify your Aadhaar details.
  • After checking your detail, you have to make payment for the Aadhaar PVC which is Rs.50/-(inclusive of GST and Speed Post charges), and can be made using a credit/debit card, UPI, net banking, etc.
  • After successful payment, you will be provided with the payment receipt. Download the payment receipt for future reference by clicking on the ‘Download Payment Receipt’ button.
  • UIDAI will submit your Aadhaar Card PVC to the Post office within 5 working days and will be delivered in a day or two.

How to Check Aadhaar Card PVC Reprint Status?

You can check your Aadhaar card PVC reprint status by following these steps-

  • Visit the official website of Aadhaar and click on the ‘check Aadhaar PVC status’ under the Aadhaar Tab.
  • Now, enter your ‘Aadhaar number’ or ‘Virtual ID’ number or ‘EID’ number and enter the security code as displayed above.
  • Click on the Send OTP or TOTP. If your Aadhaar card does not have your mobile number registered then you can click on the check box saying “Mobile number not registered”
  • After that, you can enter your mobile number and click on send OTP or TOTP also Choose the Terms and Conditions box and click on the ‘Submit’ button
  • A new page with your SRN number will be displayed along with the status. You can download the Acknowledgement Slip by clicking on the button.

What is the SRN number?

SRN stands for Service Request Number and it is a 28 digit number generated after the purchase of the Aadhaar Card PVC. You can view your SRN on your payment receipt, Acknowledgment slip, and/or application status.
