How to Link an Aadhaar card with a Voter’s ID Card?

The government of India has made it mandatory to link the Aadhaar card with other documents which are essential for eKYC.

One of the documents which have been added to the list is Voter’s ID Card which is essential for participation in democratic voting.

Linking Aadhaar Card to Voter ID Via NVSP

NVSP Stands for National Voter’s Service Portal, which is a dedicated portal for the citizens of India seeking services related to their Voter’s ID card. To link your Aadhaar card and Voter’s ID card using NVSP, you can follow these steps-

• Visit the official porta of NVSP and login into your account using your username and password
• If you are first time user, then you can create an account in the portal
• After logging in, click on the form section in the given field followed by entering other details like name, the name of your Assembly/Parliamentary Constituency, EPIC number, mobile number/email id, etc
• Now, provide your Aadhaar number in the given field
• An OTP will be sent which you’ll have to enter for Aadhaar authentication
• An acknowledgment number will be provided that can be used for checking the status of the Aadhaar-Voter ID linking

Linking Voter ID to Aadhaar Card Via SMS

Voters can also send an SMS in a predefined SMS format to link their Voter’s ID card to their Aadhaar card. You can follow these steps to link your Voter ID to your Aadhaar card-

• Compose an SMS from your mobile number which is to be sent to 166 or 51969
• The format which has to be followed is ECILINK<SPACE><EPIC No.>< SPACE><Aadhaar No.>

Linking Voter ID to Aadhaar Card via Voter Helpline Mobile App

The following are the steps that you can follow to link your Aadhaar card with your Voter’s ID card using Voter Helpline Mobile App-

• Download and install the app on your phone and open the app followed by clicking on I agree on button
• Now, click on the Voter Registration button followed by clicking on the Electoral Authentication Form (Form 6B), and then click on Let’s start
• After clicking on let’s start, you’ll have to enter your mobile number and click on send OTP button
• An OTP will be received on your mobile number which you’ll have to enter followed by clicking on the verify button
• Now, choose the first option “Yes I have a voter ID” and then click on the “Next” button
• After clicking on the Next button, fill in the Voter ID (EPIC) number, select the “State” and then click on “Fetch details” and “Proceed”
• Now, enter your Aadhaar Number, mobile number, and Place of Application, and then click on “Done” to see the Form 6B Preview page
• After previewing, confirm for the final submission of the Form-6B and you’ll receive a reference number after confirmation
