Additional Endorsement of Driving Licence (AEDL) is an application that you’ll be required to apply for when you want to add a new vehicle category to an exisiting Driving License.

Eligibility Criteria for AEDL

The following are the eligibility criteria for AEDL-

  • The applicant must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • The applicant must have a driver’s license for at least 2 years before applying for the AEDL
  • There should not be any type of Driving ban exceeding six months from the period of application
  • The driving history of the applicant must be clean and free from any kind of bad driving issues

How to Apply for AEDL?

You can follow these steps to apply for an AEDL application-

  • Visit the official website of the Parivahan portal where you’ll find all the services related to driving license
  • In the home of the portal, you’ll have to select the state where you reside followed by navigating to the services related to the DL tab
  • Now, a disclaimer will be provided which you’ll have to confirm by clicking on the Continue button
  • After clicking on the continue button, a form will appear where you’ll have to enter the DL number, date of birth, and Captcha followed by clicking on the proceed button
  • After clicking on the proceed button, your details will be displayed on the screen, check the details
  • After checking the details, you’ll have to click on the Continue button and a new page will display the available service like PSV Badge, Surrender PSV Badge, and AEDL service option
  • You’ll have to choose the AEDL Option and click on the proceed button
  • Now, the issue of the NOC Transaction page will be displayed where you’ll have to select from the drop-down list displayed followed by clicking on the confirm option
  • A declaration will also be displayed where you’ll have to tick the box followed by solving the captcha and click on the submit button
  • After clicking on the submit button, an acknowledgment form will be generated with your details, and click on the next button to proceed further with document uploading
  • Now, upload the documents mentioned below followed by clicking on the proceed button
  • After clicking on the proceed button, you’ll have to pay for the application using the ePayment method using your credit card, debit card, UPI, etc.
  • Now, print the payment receipt for future reference and keeping a record of your transaction
  • You’ll also be provided with an application reference number which you’ll have to keep safe for tracking your application
