Bank Mitra is a scheme started by the Government of India to provide banking services to the people of rural areas. This scheme primarily focuses on the financial inclusion of the rural citizens as well as to deliver benefits of the Government Schemes directly to the people.

Bank Mitra is officially known as CSC or Customer Service Centre and is conceptualized as ICT enables front end service delivery points for delivery of Government, Social, and Private Sector Bank services in the areas of agriculture, health, education, entertainment, FMCG products, banking, and financial services, utility payments, etc.

What is CSC?

CSC e-Governance Services India Limited is a Special Purpose Vehicle (CSC SPV) and is connecting the local population with the Government departments, banks, and insurance companies and with various service providers in the private sector using an IT-Enabled network of citizen service points.

What is VLE?

VLE stands for Village Level Entrepreneur. VLE delivers various government and non-government schemes to the local people from a CSC outlet opened as a CSE service provider.

Eligibility for VLE

  • Should have a valid Aadhaar and PAN Card number.
  • The VLE should be a village youth above 18 years of age.
  • Minimum educational qualification- 10th level examination passed from a recognized board
  • The VLE should be fluent in reading and writing the local dialect and should also have basic level knowledge of English language.
  • Prior knowledge of basic computer skills would be a preferred advantage
  • The VLE should be motivated enough to be a prime driver of social change and disperse his/her duties with utmost dedication and honesty.

Candidate/Applicant photo (Scanned Copy size 25 to 50 KB)

Proof of id and proof of address (Aadhar card, voter id, driving license, passport, etc, Original Scanned document copy, size 50 to 100 KB)

Bank Mitra center inside and outside photo with the location tag. (Longitude and latitude photo size 50 to 100 KB)

Saving account Bank cancel Cheque (Original Scanned document copy, size 50 to 100 KB)

Higher qualification document (Original Scanned document copy, size 50 to 100 KB)

IIBF certification (Original Scanned document copy, size 50 to 100 KB)

Pan card (Original Scanned document copy, size 50 to 100 KB)

No objection Certificate(NOC) (If working anywhere, then Original Scanned document copy required, size 50 to 100 KB)

 System requirements for Registering on CSC

  • At least 120 GB Hard Disc Drive.
  • At least 512 MB RAM.
  • CD/DVD Drive.
  • UPS PC with Licensed Windows XP-SP2 or above operating system with 4 hrs battery backup/Portable Genset.
  • Printer/ Colour Printer.
  • Webcam/digital camera, Scanner
  • Internet connection with at least 128 kbps speed for browsing & data uploading over the internet.

Bank Mitra Salary and Commission

The earning of Bank Mitra depends on the branch only. It depends on various factors like the number of customers, and the proposed revenue support provided by the government is 3000 per month. This is a commission-based business and on average one, CSC Centre can easily earn up to 20-25 thousand rupees per month.

How to Apply for CSC

You can apply for CSC from both online and offline means-

Online Application

CSC registration Form

Visit the official website of CSC Registration by following this link-https://register.csc.gov.in/

Now, click on the Apply button followed by the New Registration button

A registration form will appear where you have to choose CSC VLE registration and also enter the TEC Certificate Number

Now, fill in the captcha click on the Submit button

You’ll be redirected to a new page where you have to fill in more details like Aadhaar/VID number, selecting gender, state, location, etc.

After filling the form, you have to click on submit button. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number that you have to confirm

After confirming the OTP, another form will appear which is much more detailed, fill in the details like your address, location, bank account details, PAN Card number, etc and also upload scanned images of the documents mentioned above

Now, click on the submit button

You’ll be redirected to the successful page where you will be provided with an application reference number. Take a print out of the application

You have to submit the application form along with the documents mentioned above and submit it to your nearest District manager of your nearest CSC

Offline Application

Step 1-  Download the Bank Mitra application form from the CSC e-Gov website

Step 2- Fill the form by entering the details

  • Aadhar card number
  • Name
  • Authentication type

Step 3– Click the ‘Submit’ button. The application has to pass through OTP Process.

Step 4-Upload the Geo-tagged Image of Centers.

Step 5– Click on the ‘Submit’ option.

After submission, the acknowledgment number will be sent to the applicant.
