You can register your complaint by visiting the Common Service Center of the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances. You can give a written complaint against any department of the Government and the redressal officer after receiving the complaint will forward it to the concerned authority. Also, you’ll be given a tracking number using which you can track your complaints as well.

You can write the complaint down and send it to the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances office.

There is no prescribed format, you can simply write the complaint down on a piece of paper or postcard and send it to the office.

Your complaint will be accepted and you’ll receive the post from the office conveying that they have accepted or further information is required post.

The easiest and fastest way to file a complaint is to register your complaint online. You can visit the PG portal online and file the complaint there. The following are the steps using which you can file the complaint-

  • Visit the official website of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances by following this link  https://www.pgportal.gov.in/
  • Now, you’ll have to get yourself registered by providing your details like name, address, mobile number, email ID, etc.
  • After completing the registration, login to your account using your login credentials
  • After logging in, you’ll find your dashboard displayed and you’ll have to click on the Lodge Public Grievances
  • Now, select the relevant department or ministry that you want to file the complaint against followed by selecting sub-departments
  • Now, select the state where you’ve faced this issue from the dropdown
  • You’ll have to describe the issue/complaint faced in a detailed format and appeal to the nodal office for resolving
  • After that, attach the supporting documents or any receipt followed by clicking on the submit button
  • After clicking on the submit button, you’ll have to enter the OTP received on your phone
  • After successful verification of the OTP, your complaint will be registered and you’ll also receive a Complaint number using which your can track your complaint

You can track your grievance by pgportal itself by clicking on the view status link followed by entering your complaint number.

What is the time limit for a redress of grievances?

The minimum time given for the redressal of the grievances is 30 days and in case of delay, the reasoning is required to be given.

What can a citizen do if he is not satisfied with the redressal of his grievance?

If the citizen is not satisfied then an appeal can be made for redressal of the dis-satisfied grievances and the appeal needed to be filed within 30 days.
