The widening of the investing market led to many finance investment apps coming up. To keep a check on these finance investment apps, RBI and other relevant institutions have introduced a mechanism for registering complaints.
RBI’s Complaint Management System allows users to file a complaint against the finance investment app in case of any violation or mispractice by the investment app.

How to File a Complaint Against Finance Investment App?

RBI has a Complaint management system using which you can file a complaint against the finance management app online. Follow these steps to file the complaint online-
- Visit the official website of the RBI CMS by following this link- https://cms.rbi.org.in/
- Now, click on the file a Complaint button followed by solving the captcha
- Enter your name and mobile number in the given fields and click on the get OTP button
- An OTP will be sent to your number which you’ll have to enter to confirm your identity
- After confirming the identity, a form will appear which you’ll have to fill in with details like name, Finance investment app name, address, etc.
- After filling out the details, you’ll have to upload relevant documents and files to support your complaint
- After filling in the complaint, you’ll have to click on the review and submit button
- A PDF file will be downloaded which will provide you with information on the complaint registered

Offline using letter/email
You can file a complaint against the Finance Investment app by sending a letter. Follow these steps to send the letter to the RBI ombudsman –
- Write a letter addressing the RBI Ombudsman to the relevant address provided above
- The message shows clearly describes your issue and you’ll also have to attach a photocopy of any receipt or document that supports your issue
- Now, create an envelop and attach the documents in that envelop
- After that, you’ll have to speed-post this letter to the relevant RBI ombudsman of your city
- Alternatively, you can simply write an email to the relevant email ID of the RBI’s Ombudsman followed by attaching the supporting documents
FAQ
At the time of filling the complaint, RBI CMS System will issue a complaint number which you can use for tracking. Visit the RBI CMS portal and click on the track complaint followed by entering the tracking complaint number. Your complaint status will be displayed on the screen.
If you’ve lost your complaint number then you can simply check the inbox of your phone using which you’ve registered your mobile number as after filing the complaint, you’ll definitely receive an SMS with your complaint number.
