Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) is an Indian state-owned insurance group and investment company headquartered in Mumbai. It is the largest insurance company in India The Life Insurance Corporation of India was founded in 1956 when the Parliament of India passed the Life Insurance of India Act that nationalized the private insurance industry in India. So having a policy is not only profitable also it is dependable. We have seen LIC customers asking how to check my LIC policy status online and how to register in LIC India site?
There are three ways to check the same. Either you can register your policy online and check status or you can get details through SMS and IVRS.
LIC Policy Status Online (For Register User)
Visit www.licindia.in/Home-(1)/LICOnlineServicePortal and go to the LIC e-service link. There will be two option ‘New User’ and ‘Register User’.
Step 2: Hit the ‘New User’ button, it will redirect you to a form where you will be required to enter the details of your policy.
Step 3: fill the details in the form and click proceed.
Instructions to fill in the details:
Policy Number: This must be a valid LIC policy in your name
Installment Premium: This is the paid premiums without any service tax that is required to be entered.
Date of Birth: The DOB must be in DD/MM/YYYY format.
Mobile Number: The insured must enter a valid mobile number to get alerts like premium payment alert, policy maturity alert, and premium due etc.
Email ID: The insured must enter an active email ID.
Step 4: Now choose the User ID and password of your preference hit the Submit button. The registration is successful and you’ll be logged into your account.
LIC Policy Status Online (For Non-Register User)
Step 1: Visit www.licindia.in/Home-(1)/LICOnlineServicePortal and go to the LIC e-service link. There will be two options ‘New User’ and ‘Register User’.
Step 2: You will need to enter the login details i.e. your User Name and Password.
Step 3: Once you’re logged you will see various options. Now click on ‘Policy Status’ tab.
Step 4: You will see all your policies listed If you have more than one policy and it is not listed in the list, then you can add your LIC policies by clicking on the ‘Enroll Policy’ option in the LIC’s e-Services Tools section.
Step 5: Now, you can track your policy details simply by clicking on the policy in the list.
Generally, LIC takes 30 to 45 days to update your policy details in the online database. If the error still persists, it may because your policy information has not been updated in LIC database yet. You may visit your nearest LIC branch for detailed information on your policy or contact thru LIC customer care number.
LIC Policy Status through SMS
To get individual policy status you need to type following in your mobile SMS text editor:
ASKLIC < POLICY NO > PREMIUM / REVIVAL / BONUS / LOAN / NOM
and Send it to 56767877
Premium – installment premium under the policy
Revival – If policy lapses, Revival amount payable
Bonus – Amount of Bonus vested
Loan – Amount available as Loan
NOM – Details of Nomination
For example, my policy no is 123456789 and I want to get the name of the nominee for the policy
Type: ’ASKLIC 123456789 NOM’ and send it to 56767877
Policy Status on SMS for Pension Policies:
To get Annuity plan status you need to type following in your mobile SMS text editor:
LIC Pension <Policy-No> [STAT/ECDUE/ANNPD/PDTHRU/AMOUNT/CHQRET]
and Send it to 56767877
a) IPP Policy Status, (STAT)
b) Existence Certificate Due, (ECDUE)
c) Last Annuity Released Date, (ANNPD)
d) Annuity Payment thru (CHQ/ECS/NEFT) (PDTHRU)
e) Annuity Amount (AMOUNT)
f) Cheque Return Information (CHQRET)
You will receive the details on your mobile shortly. If you receive SMS “Contact with Branch“, you may send SMS LICHELP <Policy Number> and send it to 56767877 and you will receive a call back from LIC.
