How to Apply for the FASTag device?
The following are the step by step instructions to apply for the Bank of Maharashtra FASTag device-
- Visit the official Bank of Maharashtra FASTag device portal and click on new registration
- Here, you’ll have to enter the CIF number followed by entering the Captcha followed by authorizing the process, and click on the generate OTP button
- After generating the OTP, you’ll have to enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number
- After entering the OTP, a form will appear which you’ll have to fill with details like vehicle registration number, engine number, chassis number, year of make, etc.
- After entering the number, you’ll have to upload the registration certificate of your vehicle and click on the submit button
- Now, a payment portal will open where you’ll have to pay for the FASTag device including the initial deposit amount
- After successful payment, you’ll receive the FASTag device via post and you can now use the device

Yes, you’ll have to be on FASTag lane for using the FASTag device as a payment method. In other lanes, the scanner will not be installed.
In case you sell/transfer your vehicle then you’ll have to remove the FASTag device before doing so and then surrender your FASTag device to the bank. The FASTag device is unique to the owner as well as the vehicle, any change in the ownership or vehicle would void the FASTag policies.
In case you surrender your FASTag device, then your fund amount will be transferred to your account after the completion of the FASTag device surrender.
